HISTORY OF MANTRALAYAM SRI RAGHVENDRA SWAMY MATT

After getting divine orders, Guru Rajaru ordered that a Brindavanam be made for him. On his instruction the Diwan of Adoni, Venkanna got one made. Swamiji then made a prophetic statement. He asked it to be reserved for a future peethadhipati coming in the same lineage as his. He predicted that he would be a special person and a person of great erudition. Thus this Brindavana was reserved for Sri Vadeentheertharu. He was a great grand son of Guru Rajaru. He was the fifth descendant since Sri Rayaru to be the Peethadhipati.

Vadeendaru belonged to the 18th Century. He was a great scholar along with being an ardent devotee of Sri Raghavendra, his great grand father. He is particularly known for Gurugunasthavana, a scholarly work of 36 verses in Sanskrit. It is said that as he sang this composition near the Brindavan, the whole Moola Brindavan nodded in appreciation. Sri Rayaru has accorded a special status to to Sri Vadeendraru, by keeping him to his side. All the devotees who worship the Moola Brindavana also pay respect to that of Sri Vadeendaru. They offer Pradakshina and do Namaskara of his Samadhi.

On Shravana Bahula Bidige (the 2nd day on the dark fortnight of the moon, Shravana month), Swami Raghavndra on divine instructions entered the Brindavana alive. To his faithful followers who were grieving his parting message was of hope and courage. He said that for the next 700 years he would be in the Atma form in the Brindavana solving every problem of the people who come with a pure heart to seek his blessings.

There is a statue of Guru Rayaru at the entrance seated in a lotus position. With his hand he is blessing the humanity. The road leading to the sanctum is through winding queue railings. As you enter you can read the Guru mantra. A kind of serenity pervades your whole persona as you approach the solemn Samadhi. The Brindavana made of black stone is 2 m in height and 1.2 meter in width. There is an idol of Narasimha at the top of the Brindavana, while on front is the icon of Prahlada raja. After the completion of Abhishekham with Panchamrita the Brindavana is decorated with silver eyes gold plates and sandalwood paste. Then garlands made with sacred Tulasi leaves are also put on the Samadhi. Owing to security concerns a huge barricade is placed around the Samadhi. This makes you to view the Brindavana from a distance of around 12-15 feet. Generally devotees sit in quite contemplation around the Samadhi before exit.

BUT now the whole scene of this place has been changed due do recent floods that occured in the month of october in kurnool districts.

And i my self was a victim of these floods when me along with my family went there. That was a great experience of mine. We had to suffer a lot one full on the floods without food and water.

But due to gods grace we came out of it safely
