HISTORY OF MANTRALAYAM SRI RAGHVENDRA SWAMY MATT

After getting divine orders, Guru Rajaru ordered that a Brindavanam be made for him. On his instruction the Diwan of Adoni, Venkanna got one made. Swamiji then made a prophetic statement. He asked it to be reserved for a future peethadhipati coming in the same lineage as his. He predicted that he would be a special person and a person of great erudition. Thus this Brindavana was reserved for Sri Vadeentheertharu. He was a great grand son of Guru Rajaru. He was the fifth descendant since Sri Rayaru to be the Peethadhipati.

Vadeendaru belonged to the 18th Century. He was a great scholar along with being an ardent devotee of Sri Raghavendra, his great grand father. He is particularly known for Gurugunasthavana, a scholarly work of 36 verses in Sanskrit. It is said that as he sang this composition near the Brindavan, the whole Moola Brindavan nodded in appreciation. Sri Rayaru has accorded a special status to to Sri Vadeendraru, by keeping him to his side. All the devotees who worship the Moola Brindavana also pay respect to that of Sri Vadeendaru. They offer Pradakshina and do Namaskara of his Samadhi.

On Shravana Bahula Bidige (the 2nd day on the dark fortnight of the moon, Shravana month), Swami Raghavndra on divine instructions entered the Brindavana alive. To his faithful followers who were grieving his parting message was of hope and courage. He said that for the next 700 years he would be in the Atma form in the Brindavana solving every problem of the people who come with a pure heart to seek his blessings.
